Athletic cups are a necessary piece of gear for nearly every martial arts (some grappling arms, like jiu-jitsu, do not use them because having hard material on a competitor’s body could give that person an unfair advantage). However, if anyone training in an art with kicking or striking should wear a cup, even if they do not plan on sparring. Using an athletic cup and support can help reduce the risk of painful accidents.  A supportive sports bra is also a great thing to have for training! Sports bra inserts provide extra padding, support, and coverage.
